This is no hoax – Phoebe the Platypus really is that cute! The platypus is one of nature’s strangest creatures, but there’s nothing strange about this pattern. Knit flat & seamed, this is pattern for the advanced beginner or intermediate knitter.

The platypus measures ~21” long when completed. This pattern is worked piece wise and stitched together at the end – no advanced stitches are needed. The eyes and nostrils are embroidered.

- 200yd worsted weight brown yarn (A, sample used KnitPicks Brava Worsted in Sienna)
- 100yd worsted weight cream yarn (B, sample used KnitPicks Brava Worsted in Cream)
- 100yd worsted weight grey yarn (C, sample used KnitPicks Brava Worsted in Silver)
- 100yd worsted weight charcoal yarn (D, sample used KnitPicks Brava Worsted in Cobblestone)
- US size 3 (3.25mm) needles
- US size 3 (3.25mm) double point needles
- Stitch holders
- Tapestry needle
- Stuffing materials
- Foam fabric interfacing (10” sq.)

I do not "dupe" another creator's designs, however, so please keep that in mind when you are thinking of what customizations you are looking for.

Most of my knit items can be hand washed and laid flat to dry. Any item with lacework should be gently blocked on a towel to air dry and preserve the lace detailing.

If you are needing an item reblocked or repaired, please message me and we will work out what services are needed and what the cost would be. I am happy to reblock out complex lacework or make repairs, depending on scale of damage and size of piece - regardless if it is my own piece or someone else's.
